Don’t be fooled by claims that you have to spend hundreds of pounds on beautiful emails to get good results.
Yes, your emails need to look smart and – in most cases – use your company logo and colours.
Spend your money wisely
But that £300 spent on a really fancy design might be better spent on, say, an advertising or direct mail campaign to get more subscribers to your list.
Think about the emails that you read on a daily basis. The ones you send and receive. They’re all just ‘boring’ and plain – yet you read them, sometimes because you have to and sometimes because you don’t but they’re interesting.
Look at what the people who make lots of money do
We’re subscribed to emails of a lot of marketing experts. People who make tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds a month.
Without exception their emails are clean, plain text, sometimes with a logo at the top or bottom, sometimes including a photo or two but never the expensive works of art that other businesses use.
Why do you think this is? Why do marketing experts do this? Because they know it works better, and because they know they will get a better return on investment by keeping things simple.
It’s easier and more natural for people to read, and it’s a lot cheaper to put in place.
Free customised templates for you to use
That’s why, when you set-up an account with us, we’ll provide you with five basic templates customised for your business.
These are:-
- Logo at the top and a single column of content below
- Logo at the top with space for a big photo at the top (use this one with caution – free advice provided!)
- Logo at the top with two columns of content below
- Logo at the top with ‘repeating’ items where you can add multiple photos and text boxes – great if you’ve got several different things to say
- ‘Normal’ email with your logo at the bottom – it makes recipients feel like you’re really sending a personal email to them
If you really need something fancy then we’re happy to help, but concentrate on what you’re saying. Make everything in every email interesting to your readers and you will enjoy far more success than your competitors who are throwing money at arty design in the misguided belief it will solve all their problems.
